Responses to Video of the Day "Derek Redmond"

There was a man named Derek Redmond and he ripped his hamstring while he was running at the olympics. He wanted to finish the race so his dad helped him so he could pass the finish line. I think it would hurt if I broke my hamstring. I think if I was at the race it would be even more sad to see it in real life.

I feel bad and good! The reason I feel bad is because his leg was very painful. The reason I feel good is because his dad helped him.

I really think that he was so so so brave, and I think that his dad only wanted to help his son. I think they were really brave.

It was sad!!! I wish Derek Redmond won the race and didn't hurt his hamstring. I feel sorry for him!!! I am glad that he did not give up!

I felt proud of his dad. I felt bad for him. I know how he felt because I almost rip my appendix everytime I run fast.

While we watched the Inauguration we drew portraits of Barack Obama. Here are a few.

We learned that Barack Obama is the first African American President and that Barack and Michelle have two daughters, Sasha and Malia. He is our 44th president of the US and he was a senator before he became president of the US. He had to go away from his mom and dad to go live with his Grandma and Grandpa in Hawaii.
